The only thing holding me back from purchasing them is I could get a used T1.2/3 for the same price.I love them, I've had the DT 1990, the DT 900 pro, and a slew of other headphones, and they hit the sweet spot of sound for me. They avoid the painful highs Beyerdynamic is known for, the bass is surprisingly good for open back, and they have really decent soundstage.
My only issue with them is the mute button on the cable is not functional.

My Schiit Gunnr came in!
Not much time on it, and won't have much time since I'm about to travel for a week to AES in New York, but interested in trying out the soundstage/vocal knobs just to see what effect they do. Quick test was off putting, but it was too quick and didn't really test, test.

If that's what is use for GG software, it's one of the best for my tastes. Really easy to discern front and back.I hate the muffled effect Nahimic uses for sounds coming from behind.

My recliner station for now
Presence knob on Gunnr from some quick testing seems to lift everything from 200hz up to treble, mainly at 2-3k. I assume that's correct with how it works on Syn and the others?
Probably best for some midrange deficient headphones, though not necessarily targeted like a full on EQ. Or maybe to reduce some mid forward headphones that are peaky between 2-4k mainly. I'm sure there's more to it, but I guess it's fine as a quick and simple EQ. Like it a lot on the LCD-5 and around 10 on the knob as opposed to the neutral 12.
The width knob... I'm not quite grasping what it's doing to my audio, though maxing it out doesn't seem a good idea, and everything under max is subtle to perfectly fine. I'll probably have to play with quite a bit on games.
A lot of gain on this with the power supply connected.

Guys, is Dolby Atmos working alright with W11 24H2?
I think Microsoft just broke the app somehow by ditching Ac3 support.
Inside the Dolby Access app here, that first page is just... gone!
After trying to play a movie with DD+ and Atmos, which used to work really fine with default and newest W11 media player, now... is just unsupported! No audio AT ALL.
The same with the Nightwish album called Yesterwynde, which also has Dolby Atmos, but is the same: unsupported pop up, no audio!
All of this used to work pretty fine with 23H2.
If this is really the case, Dolby has to be very happy right?

There is an utility on Guru3D called AnWave that has an option for installing the Dolby AC-3 codec (decoder/encoder) on systems that lack it.Guys, is Dolby Atmos working alright with W11 24H2?

That being said, I have a 24H2 install here that is relatively new, and I get the Dolby Atmos for Home Theatre tab, you may need to update Dolby Access.

@MarkDraconian
I recently got an update from Microsoft Store installing "Dolby Digital Plus decoder for PC OEMs"
"This app is designed to be preloaded onto systems by authorized device manufacturers (PC OEMs) only.
Included codecs:
- E-AC-3 decoder (backwards compatible with AC-3)"

Oh nice!
I do wish they didn't go with 3.5mm for the headphone jack though. Those jacks are not the best.
Also wish they'd state the output power in mw at 32, 300, 600ohm. Ah well.
The GC7 and G6 are permanent fixtures at home. I'd likely get this just to be finally rid of the last holdover device I have that isn't type C (G6). Micro USB, BE GONE FOREVER.

No mention of what DAC chip is used, and lacks it's own power, so limited again to USB supplied power.
So it won't use more than 5v 1A total, and will run on 5v 0.5A. SO I expect the same amping capability as the G6. Too bad you can't use a USB-C port to get higher power capabilities.Power
USB 2.0 / 3.0, USB Bus Powered

Any changes towards SBX to be expected?

Got my G8 yesterday - don't have much time to spend using it this week but after quick testing, the mic input seems much better than the G6 I had and (at least using USB1 via PS5) there does not seem to be any impact on volume/output compared to when connected to a Macbook?
Need to spend some time with the software and also with the various connection options now though.

I saw the Gunnr announcement at the beginning of the month too… jealous you got one!Looks like I'll be receiving the Schiit Gunnr soon, and I plan to have a write up for it to post here!
It's been awhile, so this will be what gets me going.
Looks like it should be a good alternative/replacement for both Fulla and Hel, as it functionally works like both. Usb only for Fulla level power, and with a power wart, for more power than even the Hel.
It loses the adjustable mic gain, but still has the auto mic gain of the Fulla.
That and with the new width and vocal presence knobs, should be a nice kit for gamers who don't want all the fancy software.
I did buy a Fulla last month, so I'll probably have some comparison points between them.
It doesn’t process actual directions, just has a “dialogue boost” and a “width” adjustment, but those can still be useful and cool. I wonder how well they work on top of a Spatial Audio DSP like Tempest 3D or a Creative product.
Interesting!I recommend getting the Steelseries GG software for free, which enables virtual sound devices that you tie to your real dac/soundcard and you can enable their version of surround emulation with that with any audio device. I think it's remarkable.
I might prefer it to Redscape or the others.
Too bad my feelings that Clippy is slowly taking over Microsoft have not abated, thus I still don’t have a Windows computer. I do have and love my PS5 and Steam Deck, though!

I'm not well versed on the whole HDMI Arc thing, is the G8 able to process say 5.1 LPCM over HDMI and spit out virtual surround sound?Got my G8 yesterday - don't have much time to spend using it this week but after quick testing, the mic input seems much better than the G6 I had and (at least using USB1 via PS5) there does not seem to be any impact on volume/output compared to when connected to a Macbook?

Doesn't look like it, unfortunately. HDMI ARC is limited to 2-channel uncompressed/LPCM and lossy formats (e.g., Dolby Digital, DTS) -- basically the same limitations as optical. HDMI eARC is capable of lossless 5.1/7.1 LPCM, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD, etc.I'm not well versed on the whole HDMI Arc thing, is the G8 able to process say 5.1 LPCM over HDMI and spit out virtual surround sound?
