Hey everyone,

I've been out of the loop a couple of years and at this time I have some extra funds, so I'm looking to see what's out there in the under 1000€/$ range. My current workhorse is a pair of Mad Dogs. Based on what I've read the LCD-2 seem intriguing sonically, but they're simply too heavy for extended use as I wear headphones for very long stretches. Isolation isn't required, so anything from open to closed is possible.

I've owned HE-400, DT770, HD650 before. HE-400 had painfully piercing highs which I hated and the DT770 had bloaty bass which didn't go very low. The HD650 were excellent all-rounders, but as my musical tastes started moving towards electronic I was missing some lower bass extension. At that point I discovered the Mad Dogs, which have served me well(with a slight lower bass boost).

The TH-X00 MassDrop is still going and seems like a decent deal for $515(incl. shipping to Europe and taxes). Any other suggestions?

You can always upgrade the Mad Dogs to Alpha Dogs.
