Mac users, what are your media players?

iTunes on Windows is so slow, I stopped using my iPod because of it. Now I use Winamp on Windows and Rhythmbox on Linux.

You can use Fluke to load FLAC files to iTunes on MAC OSX. Sometimes, iTunes does run slow though as a result of handling all these FLAC files.

Just install Fluke and iTunes will happily play FLAC encoded files.

Hmm this is interesting. I'm just about to order a Macbook Pro and at this stage I'm thinking Parallels + Windows 7 + J River Media Center.
I don't wanto have to bootcamp just to play music. :/
I'll report back when I get my Macbook and have had some time to play with it.

WHY would you order a Macbook Pro and run Windows, when you can instead get an ASUS with twice the specs, and half the pricetag?  -_-

I've been wondering this for years. If you have some forethought you could get a PC that runs OSX too (if all you care about is the OS).

It's about build quality and design lol. Although I would pick an Alienware any day of the week, I owned a Pro 15" before and despite the price tag and lack of software, I have to admit the build quality is top notch.

Yeah, I refuse to pay a $1400 premium just for the build quality.  $200 premium, I'd be on a Mac right now.  The fact that I'd have to pay nearly double, AND not even get a quad i7 OR two drive bays is ridiculous.

Beautiful!  I had Hackintosh on my old Gateway running it better than the 2009 MacBooks, after only an extra hour of work to get the v-card and sound working.  It's like getting paid $1000+ for an hour of work.  (Paid $700 for the Gateway, beatout the 2009 Macbooks at $2000+)

To note, Amarra hasn't been positively reviewed everywhere.  And at $1000...  It's definitely not the best for 'bang for buck' people.  I would hazard a guess the JRMC on Windows would offer the same performance after some configuration and with songs fully loaded in ram (thus eliminating the HDD in the chain)
