My dad's Core Duo Intel iMac (Mac OS X "Tiger") is running out of hard drive space.

Seems like the Mini Stack is the best solution, except that it's expensive.

If I use a general enclosure (usb connection), will the enclosed hard drive spin up and spin down appropriately when the iMac is put to sleep or awoken from sleep state?

Specific recommendations for reasonably priced enclosures for the Intel iMac would also be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: other question is how would I move his Documents folder so that iMovie files he makes still show up appropriately in Front Row?
