I am looking to hook up a mac mini to a music fidelity DAC.
I understand USB convertors such as the transit are bit perfect but will introduce jitter.
I have found various ani-jiter devices to insert to remove the jitter.
But now I am wondering about the output of the USD-toslink convertor - they all seem to be 48khz whereas CD is 44.1khz - am I losing quality on the conversion? How can it be "bit perfect" if it up samples to 48khz? are there any USB soundcards that keep the signal at 44.1khz (without sampling up to 48 and then back again)
Should I care about this????
