How much will a mixamp affect the sound of the m50s? Will it be like night and day? Just wondering before i purchase. thanks

To be completely honest, not that well. As much as I love the M50s, they just don't do great with Dolby Headphone. Just, IMHO. Soundstage is extremely claustrophobic, positioning isn't great, and it just doesn't have the sense of space needed to make DH shine. A better alternative with similar sound (although more laid back) would be the Creative Aurvana Live/Denon D1001. Better ssoundstage depth and width that pairs up well with DH and the Mixamp.
You could've asked this on my thread, and I posted impressions of the combo together too.
Don't judge the Mixamp and Dolby Headphone in general based of how it performs with the M50. That would be a huge mistake.
