Australia, mate.
Hey guys, a couple of months ago I got the ATH-M40X and I'm really digging the sound. Uncomfortable as hell but the sound makes up for it.
Even though I love my M40X, I'm still not 100% satisfied. The soundstage is kind of small and although the bass is well controlled, I don't fell it extends enough.
I've been looking at the MSR7 and they sure look like a nice pair of cans
I mostly listen to vocal tracks like jazz, chanson, city pop, folk, 80's synth pop and the odd bit of metal and EDM.
Another requirement is that it needs to be portable.
Would the MSR7 be a significant upgrade or should I be looking somewhere else?

Cant speak about the cans you listed but if you just a little more and get yourself the philips X2s and you wont regret it

I also have the m40x for my closed back set and i put a set of hm5 pads which made them very comfortable.

Aren't the X2 open cans?
I need closed cans as I use them on the go. Also, $375 dollaroos is a bit rich for me unfortunately.
