Hi I was thinking that the m-audio transit would be best for my laptop to benchmark/apogee mini dac. But how would it do for FPS games? Is Audigy really the best choice for strict gaming?

the audigy is mainly only better for gaming IF you use eax or surround. if you don't use either of those, i don't see why you can't use the transit. depending on your computer, you may see a dip in FPS overall, but with newer systems, it's mostly negligible. most people don't really care about 2-3 fps decrease after all.

and btw, the fps decrease is due to the cpu using some cycles to process the sound that would otherwise be done by the dsp in the sound card.
