Right now my work source consists of my Macintosh's headphone output. A lot of people have commented that the M-Audio Revolution isn't nearly as good as other options in the same price range, however I need something that is Mac compatible. So, would the M-Audio Revolution make a substantial improvement over my Mac's soundcard output?

BTW my Mac is a PowerMac G4 867.

I think it's far better than an SBLive! 5.1 or a Muvo^2 X-Trainer 512 MB mp3 player -- it tames the highs in a good way and its headphone out is able to give a noticeably better oomph to my DT880s than the standard line out (which is no good for headphones unamped).

That said, I've never heard an Emu 0404.
