When playing a CD it will play ~30 sec in to the song then start playing it over.
It has some serious seeking issues.

What are these symptoms of? How can I find the problem, then maybe fix it.

All I know is this thing has tubes.

It doesn't sound like a tube problem. It could be for the following reasons:

1. Your laser may need cleaning (could probably use it anyway)
2. Your transport may need adjustment (most likely).
3. You may need a new laser/transport. Obviously it's long discontinued, but a lot of other Luxman cd players of that vintage used the same one. Unfortunately I don't know which ones.

I seem to remember your Luxman model being mentioned at diyAudio.com and the Digital forum at AudioAsylum.com

If you haven't got the service manual, here's a link to it.

I meant the actual physical part that loads and reads the disc. Tray, drive motor, laser lens and tracking mechanism.

I just thought of something else. If your player does this on every disc, do you have it accidentally programmed to repeat?
