Just ordered a T2, hopefully I’ll get it within 1-2 weeks. Surprised to see very little coverage of Lumin products here at head-fi.

Was just looking for some T2 reviews. I'm considering of upgrading my U1 Mini to a T2 instead of purchasing an external dac but the T2 seems to have some impressions of being more on the bright side.

I think they just cost way more than most on here are willing to pay! I love my U1Mini. I almost bought the T2 but decided I wanted to pick out my own DAC. I think you will love it! Congrats.

I’m kind of used to the sound of ESS chips from my Burson Composer, but of course it’s all about implementation and synergy with other gears in the chain. And from what I’ve read it’ll take a good amount of time for T2 to burn in and settle on its sound. I was gonna go with U1 mini and Terminator II/Holo May KTE DAC, but opted for a more simple setup with T2. We’ll see how it goes though 😊

Thanks! And their lower tier offerings are just about on par in terms of pricing with other stuffs people talk about here, so just wondering why it’s not that popular 😁

Does anyone use the integrated upsampling? If so what gives you the best results?
For every bitrate below 192, I upsample to DSD128. For 192, it’s upsampled to 384, and above 192 I leave them native. I really love the sound of upsampling to DSD128, as it gives a more analog feel, no digital glare at all and very smooth and natural. In terms of bass, it could be perceived to have a bit less quantity, but much better quality and control. This is on T2 btw..

Why do you upsample everything below 192 to DSD128 but 192 only to 384?

I never really liked it upsampled before but since i have my new dac (T+A Dac 8 DSD) i seem to prefer it upsampled to DSD too. Currently i just have everything up to DSD128.

I found that the result is different when it comes to 192. Somehow tonality is a bit off and sounded not as natural as playing in PCM mode.

Hello,
anyone hear Lumin D2? Im looking some all in one solution. Lumin D2 or Auralic Altair G1.
Or is still better separate streamer like U1 mini with external DAC?

regards,
Simon
I had a similar thought (U1 or U1 mini w/external DAC), but went for T2 & L1 combo. Having a DAC/streamer AIO really simplifies the system and it turns out they sound fantastic, no regrets at all.
