I have a 24v regulated EPSAC (or whatever) PS for my META, and there is a constant amount of low-level noise even at the lowest volume with no ICs connected. Is this normal for a power supply, and if so, is there anything short of a line conditioner to fix it? Thanks.

What kind of noise are you talking about? Is it a hiss or a hum?

It's a hiss and its always there regardless of connection.

walk around the house and turn everything on and off until the hum goes away maybe? who knows, might work...

With what headphones? You can get that sometimes with very low-impedance headphones.

Check and see if there is an output resistor installed in R8 or R9, if not you can put a 47 to 100 ohm resistor in one of the positions (not both) that should help eliminate hiss with low Z headphones.

Hm, I just found that my META42 likes to buzz when in close proximity to flourescent lamps and computer monitors..

I think I need better shielding.

It's not a buzz and it's not a hum.
It's noise, line-level static.

And I only hear it when I have my 75-ohm Ultrasone HFI-650s hooked up to it. With my DT770s, the noise is non-existant.

Well then do what JMT suggested. Pop open the hood and see if there's a resistor in the R8 or R9 slot. Chances are there won't be one. If that's the case, you'd have to remove the jumper in either the R8 or R9 slot and replace it with a 47-100 ohm resistor (I'd stick with 47).
