Hi

I like to listen to music quite loud, and with my Koss Porta Pros there is quite a lot of sound-leakage, and that is a problem on trains etc.

Can you recommend me a low-impedance (32-70 ohm approx), closed headphone with great isolation?
(so I can listen to music loud without someone next to me complaining)

IEMs are not an option.
Also, I have a CMoy "tin-can"-amp to boost my ipod-volume slightly.

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

regards
Magnus

Hmm...the Shures and the M50s keep coming up a lot in threads like this. I might have to give them a try...

I'll throw the Ultrasone HFi 780s out there too...they're more expensive than the others, but they sound great and have excellent isolation, and at 35 ohms, they meet your impedance requirement.

That and the Ultrasone HFI 780 comes to mind.

I can't hear a thing around me while wearing the Shure SRH-840s. You didn't mention a budget, but based on your setup I'd guess you're looking at things around the $100 mark. Give the SRH440's a chance for sure.

Acix... stop with your German Maestro recommendations. While they might be good, they are usually out the price range.

The GMP 8.35 is $250. So yeah.

To the OP, it's Shure OEM's, M50, HD280, etc.

There are too many options.

X2. And they work great with my ipod and portable amps. I got mine for $117 new, so don't skimp 18$ and get 440s. And to beat a dead horse, low ohms doesn't necessarily mean they work well with portables (e.g. my 55 ohm K271s sound much worse with portables than my 80 ohm DT770s). Following Ohm's law, low impedance resistors actually requires greater current to maintain the same voltage.
