I wasn't sure where to put this. I know there are other musicians on this forum, and I know that there are non-musicians who would still love to see stuff like this. If this is in the wrong spot, moderators, feel free to move it.
I have been playing bass for about 18 years, and I just picked up this preamp, and thought I would post some pictures of it. So far it is pretty nice.
Low End True Voice Tube Bass Preamp. Hand Made. Point-to-Point wiring.
I got it used, and it comes in a nice custom-cut case. It has a 1/4" input, volume, and tonal balance on the front. On the top are a mut switch and a bright switch. The back has a balanced XLR our with a ground lift switch, and three 1/4" line level unbalanced outs. The guy had it built so that one out was for tuner, one was to run to the power amp, and one went through some effects into the power amp.
I'll post some sound clips when I get around to recording it. It currently has a Tung-Sol 6SL7 in it. I have a Sovtek and an Electro-Harmonix I'm going to A/B/C to see what I like best.
I'll post some pictures of the inside as well, because I know it will mean a lot to some people. It doesn't make a bit of sense to me, but someone will surely comment about it.
For my other equipment. My main bass is a custom made Warrior Signature 4. I also have a Standard American Jazz. I use Euphonic Audio amps and cabinets. I also have an early '70's Fender PA100 all tube head that I often use, and it sounds great with bass through a 15!
