I know... the title will probably raise eyebrows... but hear me out.

I have a small YouTube channel and I'm investigating headphones and amp options for the beginner who has a limited budget.

I'm opening the video with the beginning step of finding the impedance of all the equipment intended to be used, and finding a headphone to suit.

However... if the person wants to go with phones that are over their equipment, they need an amp.

On the valve side, I've got the Little Bear P1 at thirty pounds... so I'm just after an integrated version of the same thing, at roughly the same price, to recommend... no DAC needed.

Any ideas please?

Another vote for the Schiit Magni series.

I had the Magni 2 Uber. Has enough power for nearly all headphones along with super low distortion and output impedance.

If an even lower price is desired (the Magnis are $99 to $149), I think the best value is the Creative Sound Blaster E1, as long as there aren't power-hungry headphones involved. It's a portable DAC/amp, though, not a desktop amp. But it has more output power and much lower output impedance than the significantly cheaper Pyle PHA40 desktop amp.

One cheap amp I'm curious about is the SMSL sApII, since it has surprisingly high power for the price.
