Loud Computer fan when using usb dac

My computer's fan gets really loud while im playing music with my Hotaudio heaven gold usb dac. It'll get quiet every now and then and then it will run real loudly, and then quiet again, then really loud, so forth. Is there a way to fix this?

When im not playing music, it is fairly quiet.

Can you tell if it is a case fan, power supply fan, cpu fan, or video card fan?

It's strange that it would get louder while playing music, as that is not very intensive for a PC (if it had some type of temperature controlled cooling).

Kill the fan!

Alternatively, if it don't really need to run this fast slow it down using software. Beware of computer overheating.
