I just bought LPGT Ti.Thanks to your suggestion @Amadeo Nospherathu. This dap has never been in my rankings, but when I heard it, I was delighted with it and decided to buy a new one. I have a question: is there a simple tagging instruction available somewhere?
Thanks, I'm glad my advice helped you. I missed your question here, but fortunately you have already been answered.

Yup, latest FW on Ti. I have 1542 albums and 17821 tracks on a 1TB card, and they're all organised without issue. It's true, that they're all pre-tagged in MP3Tag and then sorted into folders. I'm sort of very OCD about this, but indeed if you haven't already tagged everything nearly, then there's likely to be issues irrespective of FW.

But here's my system:

1. Folder/genre structure

Screenshot 2023-09-08 204556.png

2. Inside a given folder:

Screenshot 2023-09-08 204645.png

3. How it looks in MP3Tag:

Screenshot 2023-09-08 204740.png

4. To arrange all tagging to be correct, you first need to manually tag it, and then follow this path:

You're finished. You can also do the above in bulk by selecting all files/folders via MP3Tag. It's time consuming to first to all this, but once it's done, navigation is a breeze.
I have downloaded MP3TAG from the Apple app store for my Macbook Pro but I'm having problems which is probably my fault due to doing something wrong...

When I transfer an album from my iTunes folder I can't seem to remove the MP4 tags and change to ID3 tags. Also, I can't get the the program to add zeros to the start of my song numbers.

What am I doing wrong?

Yes I did. Current version 1.1.1.14

I can't test the process myself as I am running the latest firmware on my TI but it was as described from memory and with my PAW6000 before that. When you unzip the firmware folder from Lotoo, make sure to copy the file named "Firmware Upgrade" to the "Upgrade" folder on the Lotoo and no folder structure or anything else.

Other than that, you will need to describe the exact process, step by step, you are going through and make screenshots.

I'm afraid I don't know about MP4 as I only use WAV. However, I would suggest you try auto-tagging the album from within the Discogs option, as below. This might correct it:

In terms of the numbering, these are the setting I use:

You'll then want to do "convert" "tag-filename".

Hope this helps!

New firmware installed. Thank you.

Hi.
I just purchased the LPGT, when I try to update via wifi I get error 33. Please advice how on to update the player.

The firmware update option on the LPGT is no longer functional. If you go to Musicteck.com’s website, look in the top left menu and there is a support option. Click there and you will find the firmware link under the first Lotto option (not the second one) that takes you to Lottoo’s firmware site. ✌️

Interesting to note that the on-line firmware update for the Lotoo Mjolnir is also not functional.

I have tried these things but the MP4 tag is messing it all up unfortunately... No matter what I try, I can't remove the MP4 tag.

So... I decided to try a new rip through iTunes, using WAV this time, and then copied the album into my LPGT folder on Macbook and then added it to MP3TAG which gave me a blank canvas so I could add all the album info I needed and album art.
When done, I transferred the album to my LPGT and gapless is working perfect and I didn't even use the Convert Tag - Filename, Artist - Album - Track - Title...
Screenshot of how it looks in MP3TAG included below:

I don't know if ripping WAV through iTunes will be any different sound quality wise compared to dbpoweramp cd ripper but this WAV rip gave me the same 800mb file size as your album. (Although mine is a 1996 remaster). I'm going to try and hunt down those early versions of Dire Straits cds and rip them to WAV as well.

Many Thanks for all the help, I genuinely appreciate it

Thinking about picking the Touch to pair with the WM1Z and WM1ZM2. @Quadfather speaks highly of the Lotoo and Sony combo, I am interested.

Unless you’re getting one used, I reckon it’s a smarter choice to wait for Lotoo’s next flagship DAP instead (which they seem to be in the middle of developing). The Touch can barely power a good majority of today’s hybrid IEMs. So, ‘might as well wait for its successor.

What IEMs are you having trouble powering with it? Generally curious. I have no issues with the Ti powering my Odin on low gain. It even powers my ZMF VC on low gain with no issues. In fact I never have to use high gain ever unless I use a 600ohm earbud.

The VE ELYSIUM, VE EXT, Lime Ears Anima, Nightjar Singularity (to a degree), etc. Those are the ones I can recall off the top of my head. They’re all in-ears that sound kinda closed in and semi-anemic on the LPGT, and they instantly open up and beef up with a stronger player like the Cayin N6ii Ti. I still prefer the LPGT’s tonality over any other player I’ve tried on the market, but its power delivery is teetering on limited by today’s standards.
