Here's Headfonia's full review of the PAW 6000:

Nice review, thanks for the comparisons with N6II and Plenue L.

True. It was published today I think. Will see if any of the mentioned bugs from the list can be removed.

Oh at least one bug seems to have been cleared: in the shuffle playing mode, it does not always play the first song of a playlist first anymore.:)

That's a big bummer for people like me who buy it for that excellent hardware EQ.
I think they don't want it to be a competition to LPGT.

I'm not quite sure why you are saying this is a big bummer. Analog Devices Blackfin DSP has nothing to do with Lotoo's PEQ or ATE effects. Yes, LPGT uses Blackfin DSP but mostly for DSD512 processing and dual PLL clocks, to offload the main processor. Both LPGT and PAW6000 run PEQ and ATE effects on their main processor, the same ARM chip used in both of these DAPs. That's a reason why PEQ and ATE effect are identical in these DAPs, and also the reason why PAW6k only goes up to DSD256 since it doesn't have Blackfin DSP.

So, you are still good with PAW6k

I didn't know that. What about PAW5000 mkii, it also has Blackfin?

Yes, PAW5k mkII uses Blackfin (BF514 DSP), but I'm not 100% sure about its implementation, definitely not for DSD512 since PAW5k doesn't support it.

Well I disagree. The Blackfin DSP (BF706) runs the PMEQ and ATE effects on the LPGT. (Actually this is stated explicitly for the BF514 on the LPG. They are being more subtle in the advertising for the LPGT, perhaps in anticipation of the PAW6000.) The OS interface is identical between the LPGT and 6000, hence the same effects. But where and how it is processed is not the same.

(The LPGT has separate dual AKM8142 PLL clocks - nothing to do with the Blackfin.)
