So yeah. That just happened today. But sometimes when I move it around in my ear the sound comes back. Any idea what's going on with it?

That's likely caused by a short somewhere in the cable. Is there anywhere it has been kinked or snagged?

What tips are you using?
 
Does it happen when you move the cable, or when you touch the housing to re-adjust the fit in your ear? 
 
Anyway, I've had it happen before due to tips.  I know it's definitely not a short because I could touch the wire without any problems - it just happened when I adjusted the fit.

i'm using the white bi flange tips that came with it. the weird thing is, there's no sound coming from it even when its not in my ear. there're no visible dents on the housing and everything seems to be pretty solid.

If there's no sound coming from it even when it's not in your ear, then the problem wouldn't be the tip and positioning.  You might have to send it back and get a replacement.

Send it back for a new one. If you're hard on your earphones, maybe get a refund and purchase something a little more robust in its place.
