Hey there,

I own a pair of HD570's which I have had for a number of years I reckon (and were expensive here in Australia when I bought them!!).

They sound pretty good I reckon, although, there are some flaws there. However, the comfort is A++.

What I am looking for are headphones used mostly for PC gaming as well as MP3s (mainly 320kbps) that work don't need an AMP like the hd570 does. I would however, like them to be as comfortable as the HD570s if possible (or close to it - as they are worn for hours). Budget say around USD$200-250.

Thanks.

You could try the HD590's, they are a definite improvement on the HD570's in every possible way, and share the exact same shape as the 570's, so you'd have all of the comfort. Maybe even more, if the 590's use better ear pads than the 570's (I don't remember, but the 590's pads are much better than the 500's).

The HD595's aren't quite as comfortable, but still very comfy overall. They'll probably sound better than the HD590's, but the 590's will have a very 570-like sound signature (i.e. strong bass and treble, slightly recessed mids). Yet another idea is the Audio-Technical ATH-A900, which will be extremely comfy and will sound quite good overall. The A900 is very easy to drive from just about any source, unlike most Senns (newer 50 Ohm HD555/595 models being the exception).

"Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet!"

If it is a choice between A900 and HD595, go with HD595. I find A900 to be quite coloured in the mid and has an echoy bass. Otherwise, check out the AD900. It has better controlled bass and better extension and balance.

570 is the most comfortable phone that i have ever used, much better than the 6x0. it also feels more airy than the 6x0, sound are like coming from outside of the drivers.

how about considering k501/dt880? they should sound as airy as the 570 but more balanced i guess. comfort-wise, i've got no idea.

i would say buying an amp for your current HD-570, as it's the hardest one to drive in senn5xx series(I just know what), many potentials were burried by that reason. So try to get a CMOY pocket amp from ebay, cost about $40-60USD, ampped HD-570 would sound significantly better than it's unamped.

btw, for some reason many ppl here suggest that the cheaper model -> HD-555 is stunningly good

, so consider HD-555 as your upgrade? lol
