Hey, I know a couple guys here are Mac guys and I've got a problem. I lost a cd carrier that had my original Apple OS 8.6 installation discs. Recently my computer has been acting up (like not being able to load Head-fi!) and I want to re-install OS 8.6 but I've lost the discs. This is dire. Can anyone help me out? Please give me a PM.

PS. Yeah, I know I'm behind the times. But my powerbook G3 233 runs best with system 8.6. I always had a suspicion it wasn't so spiffy running 9.0 and I finally verified on the web that 8.6 is optimal for this ole powerbook and went BACK to it. I gave up a couple newer programmes, but it was worth the lost to be stable and fast again.

I don't have anything that old, but I believe when I was in their store a few weeks ago these guys had them priced for next to nothing. They're about an hour away from me so I can't check anytime soon, but if you can't find anyone here, you may give them a call.

Give him 8.1 and then upgrade thru Apple's software updates to 8.6

8.5 was a paid upgrade -- you need 8.5 to get to 8.6.

Unfortunately, I purged 8.x a couple years ago.

I used to have 8.5 on a disc. I'll look when I get home from work & see if I still have it.
