Hey everyone im new to the site. Ive tried a few headphones and think I know what I'm looking for, just not sure what headphone it would be lol.
I don't have a ton of income to throw at the problem since I'm a college student but I'm hoping to find something under a hundred bucks to get started that's at least ok.
I currently use the kingston hyper x cloud headphones on a pc and phone for music, movies and gaming. Not running any fancy equipment. I have an old icemat siberia headset.I love that style of suspension headband and the lower clamp force and would prefer that in a new pair. I want something open that sounds decent with punchy bass if possible (not sure if open even allow this to be possible ) and the highs a little calm. I don't like the highs in my hyperx. The highs give me a bit of a headache in those. I also like deep ear pads that keep my ear from touching the inside.
My brother has a superlux 661 that I honestly don't think sound that special but he's convinced. He also has a hifiman 400s that are fantastic but like 2 or 3 times the price I can spend.
I've been looking at the audio technica ath ad series and akg's but I don't really know how they compare to what I'm looking for.
I know enough that gaming headsets are expensive for what they are most of the time and I could probably put bigger ear pads on something if needed. I would pretty much just use the headphones at home and a mic is not needed. Circumaural probably required.
If anyone can help me, it would be appreciated. I know there are tons of threads looking for headphones under 100 dollars but I hope I had enough info on what I like to at least get started in the right direction.
Thanks

Revision:
I don't care what kind of headband they have as long as they are comfortable. I have adhd so anything distracting me will REALLY distract me.

I mostly like the sound of the superlux evo after listening to them. The highs are just a little to the point of feeling like I'm being stabbed in the back of the eyes in some songs. I like the detail though. I can notice lots of detail even with my unrefined ears. The overall sound of the headphones though are pretty enjoyable if the highs were just slightly scaled back.

I mostly like leather and velour ear pads that are deep. I can't do felt like on these older evo's my brother has (he bought the felt pads from superlux to replace the original crappy leather). For whatever reason I feel like I'm sweating as soon as I put on something with felt earpads.

I don't mind buying used if they work and arent trashed.

I don't care if they are open, closed or anything between. I'm going to be using them in my room so it don't matter.

You should consider the Pioneer SE-A1000. (Original price was 150 dollars but these days you can find them pretty cheap)
You won't get HE-400 bass out of it, that's sure, but it's still a warm sounding headphone, with a big open sound that's smooth but not rolled off. It's solid and comes with a (long) quality cable and a soft carrying pouch.

Very nice for the money.

The Superlux HD 681 is comfortable, has a suspension headband and sounds better than most headphones under $100, bit it doesn't have that punchy bass. The treble is also energetic, so I guess the sound signature is not what you are looking for unless you equalize it.

I revised what I'm looking for to be a little more clear.

I'm still considering the pioneer, but all the talk about the headband makes me want to see more options available.
