Ok, 1, definitely need to post this in the correct forum. 
And 2, Sony Mini Hi-Fi 540W. BECAUSE BASS, THAT'S WHY.

The bass is definitely there. It's not excessive, but it comes with a subwoofer built in, so there will be bass. Also, bass is something iPod stereos lack in, so the subwoofer is a plus.

If you're going for sound quality, don't get an "iPod dock". It's a gimmick. Just use a cable to connect your iPod's headphone out to the speaker input, it's not hard. IMO you would do much better getting a set of bookshelf speakers.
 
While there are good sounding docks, the value is much lower than normal speakers. You could get a better sounding speaker for the same price as any dock.
