Seriously considering pulling the trigger on the Beyer DT 150. They will be my home listening set. My current and past experience with cans i have owned are D-1001, SR 60, and my current fav AKG 240S. I'm using Klipsch Custom 3 for travel and love the detail. Open or closed doesn't matter. I have an amp as well. Thus far the 150 reviews sound stellar. All input welcome.

If you don't care about "classic" looks,
DT150 is recommended heartily.

I have both DT109 (DT100 with mic) and DT770 Pro.
Yesterday I played with DT150 for an hour and it
clearly sounded much better than those two.
Much cleaner, much more natural, beyond any doubt.

In addition, if you need (like I do) earpads with large
and deep openings, DT150 is a clear winner.

Quality of materials and workmanship is first-class,
as with other beyerdynamic headphones.

My only complaint at the moment is that earpad direction
on DT150 (and many, many others) does not respect the fact
that earpad directions shall not be he same as the direction
of headband sides, due to the fact that ear's "long axis"
is not vertical, but angled by ~20 degrees. This implies
headband to be positioned toward the rear part of the head,
which is not exactly to my taste.

But this shouldn't bother you if you don't need to have them
on your head for 24 hours continuously, as I do.
For normal usage, up to several hours at a time, it is
among the most comfortable closed headphones.

Hi Tiemen,

upon your recommendation I've tested DT150 yesterday
and was simply astonished.

Didn't buy them, still deciding between DT150 or
DT190 headset version.

I'm glad you enjoyed the DT150. I guess they were burnt-in, because they benefit a lot from breaking-in non stop for at least 48 hours.
And this comes from someone who didn't believe in burn-in at all

Well, I'll need more evidence for that

I'm going to measure the frequency response immediately
after the purchase and after some use again.

Got MM1 measurement mic from beyerdynamic here...

I found this to also be the case with the DT100. I don't care for it, either.
