Hi there
I recently purchased a Westone W30. It was kind of an impulse buy. I got it for $200 CAD ($165 US). I'm just wondering if this was a good purchase for the price. I like a warm sound in a headphone. I know this is a pretty old discontinued model, so I'm just wondering whereabouts it would be price point if it were still being produced. If it turns out there's better options for the price I can try to return it and invest in something else.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

I bought my Westone W30 about 4 years ago for $400 USD, one of my worst purchases IMHO. Most CHIFI beat or meet it in sound quality for a fraction of the price (in terms of technicalities, timbre, and tonality).

Plus a year into use, the Westone W30's cable died. Westone wanted to charge me $60 - 70 USD or so for a replacement cable, it ain't covered by warranty apparently. I told them no thank you and went to Aliexpress and bought a $8 aftermarket cable LOL.

Well if it is $165 USD first hand, I think that's an okay price. But for the same price, I would recommend gear like the TRI Starsea, or for a bit more, the Audiosense T800 or LZ A7, they eat the Westone W30.
