Looking for Upgrade from HD650

Looking at your song preferences, you really should go with the lcd 2. It's brighter than the hd650 and has a much more present sub bass. The vegan earpads brings the treble up a notch as well.

The reason i don't recommend the hd800 is... it's not too spectacular with metal and electronic music with a good bass line, i feel like it just doesn't have enough body. Also, the treble will be painful on those j/k-pop/rock music.

Overall, the lcd 2 is much more genre friendly. (make sure you get the revision 2)

HE-500 does those genres well.

I believe T1 is similar to HD650. LCD2 is not a good choice if you really like HD650.

FYI, I think 6 month is not long enough to appreciate the beauty of HD650.

Ive also considered T1 but the lack of replaceable cable is a big letdown for me. Of course with soldering it would be possible but still...

Im leaning towards LCD2, it just seems safe bet to go with. Im still gonna wait and think about this..

I think the original cable for T1 is good enough. Changing headphone cables are wasting time based on my experience.
For HD650, I tried many cables for it to pursue a better performance. However, it turns out the original one is the best.

Oh yeah, Im still going with stock cable too.

But if im gonna pay around 1000 euros for headphones i think it would be good to have that option. (in case i break the cable or something like that)

Many many people (the majortiy and including me) will say otherwise, that the lcd-2 is basically a hd650 on steroids. Their sound signature is similar, except that the lcd 2 has better low frequency extension, isn't as dark as the hd650 but still smooth, and has better mids.

I was one click away from ordering LCD-2's but now im thinking of sticking with HD650 and maybe switching to tube amp in future.....

I just love the smoothness of HD650, maybe this is the headphone for me.

But who knows, i might change my mind if i spend too much time here.

I suppose hd650 is one of a kind in its own way..

Would love to test LCD-2 if it really is worth 3x the price.. Too bad its not possible where i live..

If you have to ask that question, then it doesn't really matter. There is no such concept as "value" in summit-fi... :p
