Hello guys, I used to look for headphones in the similar price range but I had the requirement of them being foldable - well I don't really care about that anymore (I'm still gonna be traveling a lot with them but I'll think of a way to keep them secure).

What I'm looking for (as much as you can get those in headphones under 100):
-warm and plentiful bass
-crystal clear sound
-not to require a DAC or Amp (all I have is an EQ)

I was thinking of going for the Superlux 669 with some nice earpads but I'm not sure if they'll give me what I want. Can you guys recommend just literally the best headphones you've come across under 100 pounds that fill in what I want from a headphones pair?

Edit: Most frequently (if not all the time) all I listen to is : hip-hop, lo-fi, pop
Also, I don't care if they're open or closed but slightly prefer closed ones a bit more.
Also forgot to mention - I'll be using them mostly if not completely on my Asus N752-VX laptop.

If you can raise your budget by £20, I would get either the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, or the Shure SRH840

Don't the DT770 Pro require like .. a strong source like an amp ? Also what would be the difference between Shure and the DT770s ? Not sure if I'll able to go for them but I guess I can try.

It depends on which DT770 I owned (and I reccomend them) the 80 oHm ones and they were ok without amp, (250 off course yes, while 32 ohms yes but they sound worse)

Yeah I thought so. Well I am looking at both the Shures and the DT770s and I have completely no clue which to go for :D Sadly I can't try any of them before purchase ..

Also I'm still debating if I should just go Superlux 669 + better pads, people say they sound amazing ?

Okay guys, I am settled down for the DT770s and the SRH840s but now a question stands - which one do I go for ? What are the core differences in terms of sound and which ones are generally more worth the price (Keep in mind I travel a lot so the foldability of the Shures is a big plus for me but I am still curious about the sound differences)

They sound different, Shure are more detailed, less funny, but sounding better overall, DT770s are funny, v shaped, very good bass . It depends of what you listen and if you prefer a neutral sound or a warm one
Shure are foldable but comfort wise DT770 are FAR WAY more comfortable
Fodlable there is ATH - M50x easy to drive, good bass solid build

Well based on what I've said in my very first post which ones do you think I'm gonna have a better experience with?

Audio technica M50x

Without any hesitation, I'd go with DT770 Pro 80 ohm.
They have solid bass and excellent clarity, emphasised by their faster than average decay.

The build quality of the Shure SRH840 is shameful for the price and bass distortion kicks in very early... actually it's just a pretty bad, over-hyped headphone in general that should have lost it's relevance by now.

Yes or dt770 80 ohm or ath m50x, both are very good ones

Yeah I decided on the DT770s as well. Gonna go for the 80ohms because i don't feel like getting an amp and will be using them mostly on my laptop. Now that's all left to do is find a decent place to purchase them from the UK. Any suggestions are welcome :)

They seem to be currently the same price on amazon UK and thomann.de at £104 (excluding shipping) (shipping is usually within a week from Germany).
Thomann is usually the cheapest in general for Europe so it's a good place to check for the normal 'low' price of most things.
Don't really know where else you could get one from at a good price.

How can I know that if I get them from amazon uk they're not gonna be high quality copies or smth? i know a lot of stff that claim to be by 'brand' but are in fact fake trash.
