im looking to upgrade from my ath m50

listen to rock/ top 50/ punk/ rap (macklemore, eminem etc)

ive looked at the buy suggestion lists. its just i have a dilemma of my ears protruding from my ears about 25-27 mm (the ath m50 are about 15-17mm deep so i have ear pain after an hour of use or so)

so far ive been tempted to buy

Vmoda m100
A900x
akg k550
UE6000


I also own AD900x and i find that even those after a while my ears hurt from touching the grill..

so TLDR:
Looking for upgrade from M50, deep ear cups a major plus. price range 200-300

currenlty using klipsh x7i // ad900x as m50s hurt my ears too much even after stuffing hte cups to make them protrude more.

Get the M-100 but wait for the XL pads as I think you will really need it.

i pmed val to see if i could be one of the lucky testers for the XL pads .. if he replies i think id definitely go for it.

thx for your input  do you know of any other deep cupped closed headphones that i can throw onto the list in case that doesnt work out?

Denon D7100 maybe?  But that's much more expensive.
