I'm after some music similar to that of bands I like:

Gentle Giant
Yes
Van Der Graaf Generator
Soft Machine
King Crimson (earlier things)
Focus

Not quite the same style but I also like:

Echolyn
Porcupine Tree

I don't like the music to be *too* amorphous, by which I mean like some of the really long earlier Yes music like Sound Chaser (though I enjoy the first half of Tales From Topographic Oceans) or some of the weirder VDGG music like A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers. I like my music to have a form.

It would be excellent if you could recommend me some more stuff, thanks

I can highly recommend these Prog bands. Have listened to them since the 70's.

1. Camel-Just about anything they did is great. Highly recommended are The
Snow Goose, Mirage, Moonmadness, Rain Dances, I Can See Your
House From Here
2. Nektar-Remember The Future, Recycled, A Tab in the Ocean
3. PFM-Great Italian band. Their best stuff was from the 70's. Georgeous melodic
prog with lots of Mellotron.
4. Barclay James Harvest-UK band that at times is similar to the Moody Blues.
Lots of mellotron and great songs. Start with Barclay James Harvest
Live from 1974. But you can't go wrong with any of their 70's stuff.

Hope this helps.
