Hey, as the title states I'm in the market for some good headphones that will stay put. I've got the 2gig nano with the nike + kit, which is awesome. Problem is the ipod ear buds don't stay in my ears for more than two minuets. Before I started running I was looking at a set of the shure SE210s, does anyone run with these? I would hate to spend that kind of money on something that just falls out of my ears. Some people on the nike forums seem to like the Sennheiser PMX70s, but some people say they're too tight on your ears and they aren't the best quality headphones around. My main thing is that they will stay in your ears while running though, I'd rather get a nice set of buds so I can use them all the time. If there isn't a set of buds that can do this though, I'll just get the pmx70s and just use them for running.
Thanks!

Most if not all IEMs (not canal phones) will stay in your ears even while running providing they are inserted properly. I have a hard time recommending IEMs for running because, aside from the need to hear outside noises, they also make you hear a loud thump sound every time your feet hit the ground (not bad while walking but horrible while running). If you aren't opposed to clip on headphones with no isolation then I strongly recommend the Koss KSC75. Do a quick search to see how much praise these get. I jog with them daily and have no problems with them falling off.

honestly, i could never recommend iems for jogging. they stay in fine, but they arent that comfy when you are running around (your ear canal flexes and it gets sore). also, your breath and footsteps echo through your head...i think this is called bone conduction. the cord scratches your shirt and you hear that too, though with the shures it isnt as bad as others. thats called microphonics.

i would recommend koss ksc75s for clip ons (they stay on awesome because you can adjust them) or ksc55s for behind the neck. both have better sq than most phones less than like 60$ (or most iems in general) but they do not isolate. both sound very similar, so pick your style preference. they are both considered the best values in headphones.

unless you absolutely need isolation, dont get iems for running.

Thanks for the quick replies. Either of you know anything of the PMX70s? I'll check out those koss ones
I have a set of panasonic headphones that are the same style as those koss ones. I stopped using them because they would kind of sit at and angle outward from my head so I heard a lot of outside noise, and had to turn my mp3 player up a lot more than I wanted to so that I could hear it as loud as I wanted.

The pmx70s are the ones that are buds but have a band right? the sound quality won't even touch either koss (which are basically the same but different methods of wearing). If you dont like street style, go for the ksc75s. their soundquality is honestly awesome. check out the 1000000 threads on them. you can easily shape the clip (its thin metal that has a soft plastic pad thingy) to fit your ear. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

if you want sound quality the koss wont really be matched. if you really want something in your ear, the pmx70 are the only ones ive seen like that that might be quality, so your decision is already made.

I was talking about the ksc75s when I said I had a pair like them already btw.
Thanks, but now I'm even more confused. That review was really in depth, but he seems to like the sennheisers better than the ksc75s. Any more suggestions to look at?

It's all about personal taste, not to mention that the Koss is roughly $15-20, while the Senn is somewhere around $40-50 I think. If you really want something that goes in your ear, the Creative EP-630 gets a lot of recommendations around here, though I haven't heard a pair myself. The MylarOne X3 is also getting quite a lot of praise as of late. I just ordered one myself to see what all the hubbub is about. While some research is good, too much can confuse at times. If Asr says the PMX70 is a good phone, then it is probably a good phone. If you think it will suit your needs, then grab one, then run as fast and as far away from this place as you can, if you care about your wallet that is.

I run with Shure E3g's and I have never had any issues. The microphonics are almost non-existent and I have never had any issue with comfort.

Agreed. I always run with my Shure e4c's and they perform great. Previously, I would use a pair of Sennheiser pmx 60's which also proved to be quite good. They're behind-the-neck design that hook around the ears keeping them firmly in place. They're also extremely lightweight.

I'm a runner here!

I use happily use the koss KSC75s!! Three good things about them:

1. Very light. I barely notice they are there.
2. Stay on very well. I routinely run without ajusting them for over an hour.
3. That oh so seductive, completely no fatiguing koss sound.

$0.02

Just remembered number #4: CHEAP!

so you guys using the shures dont have the problem of hearing your feet hit the ground? What I'd rather do is get one good set to use all the time, if not I'll just get either the sennheisers or the koss clipons yall are talking about.

Ahem..._-=*COUGH*=-_ KSC75 _-=*COUGH*=-_

KSC75 is *the* most comfortable can ever. That's not an exaggeration. If you have earlobes, they kinda pinch it so they don't slip off joggers. And as mentioned already, they aren't like crappy plastic clip-ons, these have metal inside rubber so they can shape to any size ear (provided you have lobes, even then you can turn them upside down and they pinch the top part of your ear).

And no you don't hear your feet hit the ground while jogging, because you have 2 drivers right next to your friggin' ear drum pumpin' out some awesomely awesome soundin' tunes (i hope you have the tunes to back up what I'm braggin' about). I blast 'em at full volume and can't hear anything passing until it's RIGHT next to me...it's prolly more like feel them blow by me. Sometimes wind might be a factor with riding a bike, but still no biggie even then.

Just try 'em....they're only $15 for pete's sake:
