Looking to buy my dad a pair of over ear headphones he only wants to spend around 70 to 80 euro. He will not really be using them on the go and will be used at home for the most part. Comfort is the biggest thing and he is not looking for top quality sound just decent lows, mids and highs with a good soundstage, So comfort and durability ahead of sound. What do you recommened?

You're asking quite a bit for not much money.  Further, no one can guarantee headphone comfort for anyone else.  It's a very individual thing.

If the KRK KNS 6400 are available to you in that price range, that's a good place to start.

I'm not a fan of the colored sound signature of the M50.  If you want to upgrade, get the KRK KNS 8400.  In addition to better and more accurate sound, it has memory foam for comfort.  It is very well constructed--better than the M50--to withstand studio abuse.

Thanks they are £70 and the m50 are £100 are the m50 worth the extra money all round. And how do they compare in comfort to you?

The m50s are definitely worth the extra 30. They sound amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone especially as a gift. Comfort could be better at first but it breaks in and I can wear them all day now. Fantastic for the money.

Takstar Pro 80 closed headphones.
You should be able to but them off eBay for under 60 Euros (free shipping)
Here is one for sale for 43 Euros

I noticed you have the Takstar 2050 and Senn 558. I'm trying to decide between those two. Both are open right? Which has better sound stage and bass?

I prefer the HD558s, the Hi2050 might have a little more "life" to it's sound, but the HD558 just seems to be more of what i want (kind of a vague answer, I'm in a rush to pick up my nephew).

I know they're on-ear but these sound great, are comfortable & robust. They're also a bargain at this price...

The NVX XPT100 would be perfect. You get the comfort, durability, and yes even the sound is fantastic. Good soundstage as well. Here they go for $80 and it's one of the absolute best bangs for the buck in all of headphones.
