Looking for some classical music similar to this

What you are looking for is some Baroque-style music. The biggest name for that period's music would probably be Johann Sebastian Bach. For which I point to you this thread:

But in any case if you are new to classical music have you checked out some Beethoven? IMHO he's the best starting point for any classical music collection.

scytheavatar's advice is good. You might also want to check out some of the 20th Century minimalist pieces. There's some atonal and polytonal work that's an acquired taste, but you might like the rest. But try everyone's favorite: Arvo Part. Minimalist, tuneful and he might just grow on you. His Alina might be the most beautiful piece of music in my collection.

Look for albums with La Folia or La Folia d'Espagne in them. It's another very famous canon -- probably the platinum no. 1 hit of the baroque period -- that worked its way all through Europe from Spain. Handel used it as did Corelli before him and later it was used to great effect on the soundtrack of Barry Lyndon. It always appeals to people who like Pachelbel's Canon in D.
