Looking for shallow insertion, preferably sub-$100. http://www.last.fm/user/ladyEumelia is an example of what I listen to on a day to day basis.
Mostly brighter recordings, with midrange emphasis, and a lot of vocal emphasis.
I do listen to a fair bit of hardcore stuff like hard dance, jumpstyle, gabber, freeform, etc, so something preferrably bass neutral/natural. I would like a nice slam, and good extension, but it doesn't have to be boosted.
I prefer Dynamic drivers. The best fit I've gotten from in-ears comes from the SoundMAGIC PL30/E30/Shure SE215/315/Monster N-Ergy type of form factor. Shallow insertion with a small tip usually gives me the best seal.
