I just bought a set of 58Xs here on Head-Fi and I want to get a DAC/Amp to hook to my laptop.

Things that I want:
- USB input
- Dial/wheel for volume control -- not buttons.
- Ability to boost the bass (not a deal breaker).
- On the smaller side because my desk is small (max width around 7"- 8")
- I'd really like the solution to be one unit and not a stack.

I'm looking at $250 USD and under.

Thank you!

Hi i am using a separate DAC and AMP that fufills all your criteria except the last point about stacking.

I'm using desktop -> khadas tone board (DAC) -> Fiio A3 (amp).

It's powerered by USB, dial wheel for volume is on the Fiio A3, it has a bass boost and although it is a stack, it is small and don't take up much space. It really boosts the clarity, instrument separation, soundstage and dynamics in my music.
Pictures as below. Total cost < 250 USD. Maybe the others have one unit solutions but I'm pretty happy with my setup.

Note: USB driver needs to be installed on Win 7, seems to have no problem on Win 10 but I haven't tried with my desktop, only my laptop.

Otherwise it works flawlessly on Samsung Androids that came out since the Galaxy S3.

Thanks for the rec, but the main reason I'm looking for a single unit is because I don't want to deal with more wires at the moment. Cheers.
