Hello all,

I'm looking for an upgrade for my aging Sennheiser PX100. I've spent the better part of a day reading some of the threads comparing portable headphones on this site and I'm no closer to reaching a conclusion. Part of the problem is I haven't owned many quality headphones so don't have a frame of reference to really grasp this stuff. Here's what I'm looking for:

- Closed back
- Fair isolation. I won't be using them anywhere too noisy
- Good sound. I like clear bass, warm vocals, and can't tolerate any sibilance
- Comfortable to wear for 3-4 hours at a time
- Doesn't need amplification
- Good build quality
- Some kind of folding mechanism (flat folding also ok)
- Replaceable cable a good bonus but not required

So, is there anything that satisfies all of the above? If it makes a difference, I do have access to Japan-only products.

I've heard people talk good about Oppo PM-3 and NAD VISO HP50, you should check them out. HiFiMAN just released a new closed portable planar magnetic headphone called HE-S so maybe that is also worth looking into.

Thanks, I'll look those up. Can't find anything on the HE-S from searching, though. Do you have a link?

Any other recommendations from non-niche brands? I'd like to be able to try them on at a shop before I buy them.
