Hey guys, so I recently got the Shure SRH940s, and they just blew me away! I love everything about them; the only complaint I have is the somewhat unbalanced mid-treble, making male voices and certain instrument sound slightly unnatural. They are forward sounding, and may have a bit of sibilance here and there but they still sound amazing even on an iPod with a Fiio E11 amp.
So, what I'm looking for is something similar to the 940s, but preferably open (or semi-open) instead of closed. I listen to mostly pop, rock, classical, and acoustic+vocal stuff, so it would be nice to get something that sounds good in most or all of those genres. So far, I've looked at:
Senn HD 650, 600 and 598
Akg Q701 (I've heard the K701s and 702s are a little more analytical, not my taste. The Anniversary 702s also a possibility)
Hifiman HE-400 (These may be out of my price range, unless I can find it for around 350$)
Beyer DT880 or 990 (I've read both have harsh treble, and complaints about sibilance. True or not?)
Audio Technica AD-900x
Shure SRH1440 (Open Back)
Basically, something that has a very slightly warmer sound with airy not harsh treble, balanced mids, and good quality bass (not over-emphasized). lol, I know that's a lot to ask from a headphone unless your looking for something in the 1000$ range

I was seriously considering the Hifimans, because of the many positive reviews. The only thing turning me away is both the price, and apparently the large peak in the mid-treble. If I go with these, I'll just have to work more for money
The Senns sound like a very solid choice. I was originally looking at the 598s, but I think the higher quality of the 600 or 650 are worth the price. And I'm not terribly concerned about comfort as I am with sound. Also, the warmth and overall balanced response is what I'm looking for. I haven't read anything bad about these, also I'm curious about how they compare to the Hifimans.
AKG Q701s were my first choice. But I'm not going to buy something just because Quincy Jones's names is on it. I've heard mixed reviews, and this is another one I'm seriously considering. I'm just concerned about the balance of mid and treble sound, I don't really care about super loud bass.
Beyers, I thought they would be a good choice. But from what I'm reading, they seem to have too much treble. I don't want too much sibilance or harshness that will fatigue me while trying to enjoy good music.
The AD-900x may or may not be a good choice, just cause I haven't seen convincing reviews whether to buy or not to buy them. I'm not sure how they stack up against the other ones I listed, maybe you guys can assist me in that.
