Looking for new headphones

Hi everyone,
 
I currently have Sennheiser HD558 and had them for a while I'm looking for an upgrade.
 
I listen to rap,hip hop.
 
Looking to spend $750 if there is a significant upgrade for a little more $$ then i'm interested and open for suggestions.
 
These headphones will only be used at home, I'm a gamer.
 
I really like and prefer open headphones.
 
If there is any other questions you need to know please just ask.

Beyerdynamic T90 headphones, $300-$500.
 
Assume this is for a Windows PC?
Maybe add a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card?

Are these headphones comfortable? and do you have experience using them?
 
will I not need a 3rd party dac/amp to power these?
 
what does the 3rd party sound card do? I am assuming it just improves sound.
