Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade from my Sennheiser MX450s to a more expensive, better quality pair.

I listen to pretty much all categories of rock. But I am looking for a pair of earbuds which suits ALL sorts of music. I love my current Sennheiser's because they give a real crispy clear and rich sound. That's what I'm after. I want a pair which has a cord adjuster (the slidey thing on the cord which adjusts the point of which the seperate cords split) and they must be Y - not assymetrical, or J.

Budget is $150 max.

Any help is much appreciated.

Yuin PK1. I can't recall if they have the "slidey thing" on the cord, but I'll check when I get home. They are Y cord and offer excellent sound quality, comparable to that of the HD580s.

They can be had from Head-Direct.com for $139 shipped to the US and Canada. If you do decide to get them, don't let the cheap look fool you. These little guys pact quite a punch. Think of the cheap look as a pro, nobody will ever think about stealing them.

Just had a quick look - I'm going out the door now but they don't look like in ear's.

I will look at them both later when I get home.

Thanks.

The PK1s are by far the best ear buds you'll find, but they don't have a slider, and they require an amp to really be appreciated. Without an amp, I would go with the PK2s, which are $70 cheaper. Since you don't like the J-cord (it is annoying), that leaves out the PK3s. You did say ear buds in your post. The PK1s rule, but without an amp, you are wasting your money.

Did you want internal ear monitors (IEMs) as opposed to earbuds? IEMs are the earphones that go deep into your ear and block out a lot of noise. Earbuds are like your current Sennheiser MX450.

Although the PK1 will benefit from an amp, they still sound very good without one. I've had quick listening tests with the PK1 and the PK2, both unamped, and preferred the PK1s. Also, your PK1s will scale up if you ever decide to get an amp.

Thanks guys.

I am after in-ears, not sure if this is the same as IEM.

The PK1s are not IEMs, correct? If so, I am after IEM.

IEM = In Ears monitor, so IEMs are what youre looking for
