Hi been lurking here for awhile. Bought Panasonic htf 600 on this site's recommendation. They were great but broke fast, then I got Ath900x & just sold them due to weight.

I'm looking for a replacement, have tried out HD 451 but hate the flat bass. The audio technica had good sound but too much highs & just slightly too little bass.

I want headphones under 250g with preferably larger than 30mm drivers at a good price if possible.

So far I think the Panasonic ht7x or Sony Mdr450 seem to be my thing or I can settle for an HD 201.

The Sony v55 seem decent too

I listen to only Punjabi music if someone is familiar with that & like to hear the variety of drums.

I have a xonar dg for my amp.

Everything gets more expensive in Canada & I have a lot of other stuff I have to buy..

I don't mind something with the same sound profile as the ATH-900x if they're lighter, I'm not too fussy.

I looked at the ATH-50x but it's 200 if it was less I would get them despite the weight.

I'm concerned the HT7X won't have enough bass.. (Or w/e frequency the Dhol drums & others play on)

As example:

With the ATH-900x I can clearly here the main Dhol Drum Line

On the HD 451 It disappears

My Sony EarPhones that came w/ My Phone (MH410 I think) Literally Sound better than the SennHeisers.

I'm going to return them to Amazon & Monday & hopefully have a decision made by then..

Thanks||

According to your description of the ATH-900x, you might want to try out the Audio Techica ATH-WS770iS. It's 25% lighter and has more bass than the 900x and I don't find the highs fatiguing at all.

Hmm about 350 on the Canadian site. I have a spare pair of Sony Mh410 I think I'll use them for my pc & listen to music mostly on my phone.

HD 280 maybe a Sony & the Ath m50 or 40 are on my short list for the future maybe boxing day?

Tnx
