I love my DBA-02s and what I perceive to be a balanced, neutral sound. But I increasingly find that I need something with a mic so that I can use it to talk on the phone, or answer the phone when I'm listening to music.

Any recommendations? At the $300 mark there are Jays q-jays, but I'd like to get below $200, if possible.

Former DBA-02 user here (until it fell apart), now using ER4SR among others. Have you tried any of the Etymotic range? The HF series, if you really need that mic, or if you want to max out your budget, check out the ER3SE and see if ClieOS is still making Ety cables with mics.

I had ruled out Etymotic because I was under the impression that their IEMs were iPhone only and thus wouldn't work with Android. Otherwise I might have just bought an HF3 and been done with it. Or I guess the ER4R is the newer version...

I pulled the plug on a set of used Shure 425 and ordered a seperate mic cable for it. All for under $200. It arrives tomorrow. We'll see.
