Hello. I want to ask you guys about headphones to my Sansa Clip+.
I'm looking for a comfortable over-the-ear/on-ear headphones, between 100$ and 200$ (+/- 20$), with nice design, and sound. My types are:

- Sennheiser HD439 (now my favorite, from this list, mostly because this velours pad's)
- Sennheiser HD449 (nice too, but 439 i think are more comfortable)
- AKG K242 (love the design, but afraid of too less power in Clip. also price [HD439 are cheaper])
- Phillips SHL5905 (nice design, nice price, but don't know how they play)
- Audio Technica ATH-ES7 (also nice design, and sound, but price :/ and scratchy)
- Audio Technica ATH-WS70 (even better looking as ES7, but also this price :/)
- House of Marley (i don't know so much about this headphones)

I would be grateful for your help, and sorry for my not the best english (i'm from Poland )
Best wishes. Tomek ;]

well... i need some isolation ^^. i'll use it outside (inside too ofc). closed headphones, or half-open
music? mostly rap, also some drum & bass, house, techno, rock...

this ath-a900x in my country are v. expensive (and i don't want to play with order from usa, or something)

is HD439 a good choice? but they are not so much portable :/ (can't put it in to my bag for example)
or maybe one of House of Marley's headphones? (but this less expensive i thins are not so interesting. and for this 150$ i can have WS70 or K242)
439 are a little bit cheaper, and that's +.
or maybe it's good to pay a little more and buy K242 or WS70? i don't know  are they a good choices to Clip+

Hello!

The HD439 are doubt a good headphone for your genre! :D other than HD439, UE6000 will do as well but depends on what type of sound signature you like!

Hope it helps!
Billson :)

I'd be worried, too, that the 91db sensitivity of the K242 might need a little more power than the Clip+ to drive them. I just haven't heard them, so I can't tell you.

You might try googling AKG K242 (and K240) with head-fi as keywords, and search some of the threads and see what people are saying.

and what do you people think about philips shl-5905?
there is not so much info about it on web, but they're good looking, cheap, nice build (i think) headphones (also they've a controler on cable, so that's nice)
i think about shl and hd439, and no idea, which one will be better :|

AKG K550s are only 32-ohm, should be very easy for the Clip+ to drive them.

JVC-HA-S500 folding on-ear headphones sell in the USA for $60

Also installing the Rockbox firmware on the Clip+ is free and provides more setting for fine tuning audio.

my favorite is my Yamaha pro 400 and that will work well for your music from the clip. Price fluctuates a lot on amazon, brand new from $159-$300. I liked the Senn hd280 at best buy and intend to buy it. Amperior is also a good one.
