Mostly listen to alternative rock (tool/live/chevelle) and trance (BT/Sasha)

For gaming doesn't really matter, I use any headphones.

I prefer sound isolation.

100-200 USD

I looked at the Denon D2000, but looks like I might need amp for that. The previous one I had was the D550 and I liked that a lot, lasted me 3 years, wasn't exactly careful with it, just wore out. Something like that maybe?

Where to buy would be also great recommendation.

For isolation try the RP-21s.

I'm just joking.

Theres no reason to start a completely new thread.. just go back and edit your original post/thread.

Anyhoot... I recommend the MDRV6/7506 or AT-A900.

Avoid the HD555/595 and K240s for the reasons I list in your original thread.

I'll look at the AudioTechnica's 900

How do these compare?
Sennheiser HD280 and the Beyerdynamic 250/80

They both seem to provide some isolation and good sound, one is a bit more expensive. Are the 250 worth 100 USD more than the 280? I found HD280 new for 79 USD, cheapest I can find for the 250/80 is 195.

Anyone can compare?

Im not a huge fan of the HD280, I found it very cold and excessively analytical. Its ability to recess guitar and vocal solos was a real turn off for me. I found it made even the most vibrant/dynamic recordings very distant and dull. IMHO they had the strange ability to artificially boost treble over the recessed mids. But they do isolate very well and have very deep bass.

Ive never heard a DT250 so I can't compare.

I currently own a pair of A900 and will say that they sound great. Can't comment on the HD280 and Beyer 250 as I've never had the opportunity to audition them. The A900 are easy to drive and don't require an amp to sound good.
