Will keep this as short as possible. Use a DT770 Pro now. I find it really uncomfortable. My ears won't fit completely in its ear cups, some parts of ears go inside, some stay outside on the leather, causing tremendous pain after one hour of usage. So right now I just want to use a headphone which will actually fit my ears, a real OVER the ear one, not semi over, semi on or whatever. I don't know but I think the ear cups have to form a shape where the Y axis has to more in length than X axis, matching human ears' shape, this Beyer has a near perfect circle, where X and Y axis have almost same size. Am I making sense here?

My budget is around 250 USD. Closed is a must. Neutral sound sig will be great. 770 is a little too bass heavy I think, can live with less bass.

Thanks in advance.

PS: This is a photo showing which type of ear cups' shape I like, the Orange one, so you could understand better http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K4mLIWsO4h8/VgjMFwC6MiI/AAAAAAAAsfE/cyAKcSgZEWk/s1600/_DSC7460.jpg

You can get some Brainwavz HM5 replacement pads, found here: https://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Replacement-Memory-Foam-Earpads/dp/B00OLKV5LI and place them on several different brands of headphones. That way you could find a headphone that has a sound signature you like that takes the HM5 pads and have the best of both sound and comfort. They are large enough to fit my entire ear inside with no issue and while I'm not Dumbo, I do have a decent size ear. I have them on JVC HA-SZ2000 and Ultrasone HFI-580.

Below are just some of the ones listed to be able to accept the HM5 pads according to Brainwavz.
  1. AKG 701 Q701
  2. Audio Technica ATH-M50 (and all other M50 sub models)
  3. Shure SRH 440
  4. Koss DJ100 / DJ200
  5. Takstar HI 2050 and Pro 80
  6. Ultrasone HF 580 / SH 1 Pro / HFI 780
  7. Sony MDR V6 / ZX 700
  8. Fostex T50RP T50
  9. M-Audio Q40
  10. JVC S500S
  11. and many more.

Ha ha thanks mate. Just found the video right after I reply. Thanks anyway. Just tried removing the stock pads on the 770, darn easy. I will be ordering them right now. Just one thing I couldn't help notice in that Youtube topic that the OP said it does affect sound quality, so he ended up returning them, hope that doesn't happen to that extent in my case :)

In most cases the sound that it affects is the bass, which might be exactly what you need for your DT770's. It's not much, but it might be enough. Let me know how it works out for you.

Try the HM5 angled earpads. They're thicker so you potentially have more depth to tuck in your earlobes. They'll still be curled up inside them but there's the chance that nothing will be pressing against them either.

I am ordering the pads, just to make sure, this is the right product right? http://www.amazon.in/Brainwavz-Replacement-Memory-Foam-Earpads/dp/B00MFDT894

That's the flat version, yes. The angled ones are sometimes not on Amazon though
