I have a sennheiser ie80 on hand and i was looking for a suitable DAP.
I have been using akg k450 and sony xba x1 before.
I am kinda like to listen to warm sound and base.
I basically listen to all type of song.
Currently, i am looking at ibasso dx80 ( which people say the overall result is too warm with ie80, but I really like how it looks)
Fiio X5 II (not really sure about this)
Cayin N5 (sound quality similar to dx80?)
and sony zx100 ( which is not too cost-effective ?)
Please if some current ie80 user can give some recommendation.
Any comment would be really helpful for me!

Of those, I would be more inclined to go for the Cayin. I spent a couple of weeks with it during the North American tour, and it is a great-sounding DAP, and one of the best looking by far.

But of course, you can't go wrong with a FiiO. I have the X5 Classic, and still love it.

I haven't read up enough on the DX80 to make a comment.

Don't worry about a DAP reducing the bass. No DAP will make the ie80 sound dry. ;)

Personally, I like the appearance of ibasso dx80.
I just worry about two things.
1. The noise floor is to great.
2. Many say that ie80 sound not good with dx80 because the overall result is so bulky.

X5ii was my consideration.
But some say the tuning of this machine is kind of insipid.
Not really sure if that something I like.

You will find negative comments about EVERY DAP's sound. There will always be a couple of people that don't like it. But I've not heard very many that don't like the X5ii. The same is true for the N5.
