so, my sennheiser HD 558's have been severely lacking in bass. and i've tried to turn it up to get more bass, but that just results in the treble hurting my ears.

what i want is headphones that have the same, nice highs and mids like the HD 558's. but with good bass. not overkill bass, but enough bass that gives a good punch. i've been looking at some like the denon AH-D401, or the sony MDR-10r. but i'm not sure. does anyone know if there's even any headphones like that?

Under $100, you might want to look at the original Creative Aurvana Live!

Everyone hears differently, but the CAL! has been noted for great sound at a bargain price for a long time now.  They are a long time favorite of mine.  Bass extends well, but can get a little loose, that is true.  But for $55 they really are a great value for anyone who likes a warm toned headphone.  If you haven't read it, take a look at the review over at Innerfidelity.

The great weakness of these headphones is their build quality, which is adequate, but will not withstand abuse.  And the pads are a little small, but very soft and most find them comfy.

if you want lots of bass get the JVC SZ2000 and EQ the bass....you get explosive bass with that....

another option is the M-Audio Q40 or Sony XB950.....

CAL!1 and CAL!2 are also good choices....
