I'm looking for something that is kind of a hybrid between regular ear buds and the Shure E5's that I own. I'd like some isolation/seal but I want the phones to be small and easy to take in and out without irritating my ear. Any suggestions?

There are tons of "semi" partially isolating earphones. There are the Sennheiser CX300s, V-moda Vibes, Jay's line, Denon AH-700/350 line. The price varies from from $50 j-Jay's to $200 Denon AH-700.

Etymotics work just fine modded.
I cut the smallest of the three flanges off of the tri-flange seals.
Unless you have really tiny ear canals, that one isnt doing anything anyway.
Works perfectly for me.

This will expose the filter a little more but as long as you keep your ears relatively clean it doesnt make any difference.

Thanks for the replies. Circuit City has the Sennheiser CX300 for $50 right now so I'll give those a try. Senn has never let me down. These are going to be hacked up to make iPhone headphones with the OEM cable so I don't want to spend too much in case it's a disaster.
