Looking for something that sounds similar to the ath-a900's and yet provides better isolation and less ridiculous treble (more midrange and tighter bass would be nice also). my budget is $450

Fairly difficult suggesting something that sounds similar but with a different high end, more midrange and tighter bass, as it will obviously be a different beast altogether.
And as I haven't heard A900 that would make it even more dificult for me, so I won't even try from that angle, but I will suggest DT150.
Non sibilant top end, good isolation and leakage, reasonably tight bass, decent midrange and well within your budget. Bonus built like a tank. Down side-look like a dork.

EDIT: I typed my reply before your "leather" request hit. Back to the drawing board. Now with that one request you are in top end ATH or Ultrasone Edition territory, outside your budget I think, just because you want leather. Maybe a Beyer DT770 with custom Manufaktur leather pads?
