Hi all,

I am new to the forums. I thought I may find some help here as the headphones I am currently in search for are only available to me by order, and not possible to listen before I buy, unfortunately at this price range.

I am in search for Endgame headphones strictly for Movies, since I am not always allowed to listen to movies using my speakers due to the reason that I live in an apartment.

I currently have a Fiio k5 with a beyer dt 1990 pro using harman eq and I really like the sound it produces. Slightly warm, fast and nice bass and treble and highs are a bit tamed. However I will be keeping this setup for my FPS gaming computer and upgrading to a few levels above my currently configuration.

Some headphones I saw reviews of and am highly interested in are the

audeze lcd x 2021
hifiman he1000se (i dont really like its looks)
fostex th 909
fostex th 900 mk2
sennheiser hd800s
hifiman arya organic
hifiman arya stealth
focal clear mg professional
meze empyrean 2 (not exactly my budget but well I am looking for endgame headphones)
focal utopia (not exactly my budget but well I am looking for endgame headphones)
audeze mm500

Here's my take on these...

audeze lcd x 2021 - good but better with EQ and the new pads

hifiman he1000se - great sound quality, excellent comfort if this pad shape fits you

fostex th 909 - ok, lots of people love them, just not my taste

fostex th 900 mk2 - if you like neutral, this isn't it, benefits from EQ and a pad swap

sennheiser hd800s - bass shy, soundstage is artificially wide, which does help for gaming, sounds better on better source gear

hifiman arya organic - have not heard

hifiman arya stealth - great, not as good as the SE but still very enjoyable and a steal at used market pricing

focal clear mg professional - great dynamics, very punchy, timbre is not quite right

meze empyrean 2 - bass is somewhat bloated but a very fun headphone, definitely not the endgame in detail retrieval

focal utopia - same comment as the clear but this has more detail and better dynamics

audeze mm500 - it's ok, maybe for mixing it's great, but I found them somewhat boring

Just my personal opinions and thoughts.
