Looking for Amp w/ Ety ER-4P (for iPod/Laptop) - For mainly progressive, rock

Hello there,

I am new to the amp business but I am currently looking for an amp that can drive my headphones both at work (laptop) and on the go (ipod). I currently purchased Etymotics ER-4P which are excellent IEMs but I still think the sound would be much better driven by a decent amp.

I am a progressive nut (from genesis, king crimson, yes to tool, opeth, symphony x, to transatlantic, neal morse and spock's beard). Bass is not a big thing but its still and issue, ER-4P lack a tad bit of bass and i'd like to see a little boost on the lower end.

The main thing is that its portable and not to costly (~<250 US, preferably less).

Please help me out oh great audiophiles of Head-Fi
