I have a ton of respect for this community, and was hoping to get a few suggestions from you. I’ve had a nice pair of Sony over the ear headphones that recently broke. I’m looking for a pair under $400.00 that can give me great sound and hopefully do the following:

Use with Xbox One (would be nice to have a microphone but not necessary)
Use with TV to watch movies
Use with Surface
Use with Cell phone
Occasionally use on plane

My TV does NOT have a headphone jack, but I have a old Turtle Beach Surround Sound processor that I can plug into my TV. My old headphones I had to pull power from the processor and put the jack into.
 
I *think* I want closed ear but was interested to hear what you think!  Several people have mentioned the HiFi Man HE400 to me as a good option.

You definitely want closed for airplane use and the HE-400 is open, though a highly recommended headphone.
